Department Details: Busy 31 bed post acute/TCU with a variety of patient diagnosis. Consistent therapy team. Would be working with another OTR onsite. Schedule is M-F.
Responsibilities- Assess clients/patients/residents and design occupational therapy treatments.
- Help clients/patients/residents develop, maintain and recover their ability to perform tasks in daily occupations.
- Conduct evaluations and provide interventions for functional, cognitive or behavioral impairments.
- Evaluate physical, cognitive, developmental and psychosocial abilities; develop realistic therapy goals and administer programs.
- Document client information for evaluation; establish and modify therapeutic plans as needed.
- Provide education to clients/patients/residents to enhance understanding and outcomes.
- Apply age-appropriate treatments and evaluations; incorporate current research into daily treatment.
- May treat individuals of all ages with varying diagnoses; perform documentation per departmental guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Follow clinical practice guidelines and demonstrate flexible scheduling; collaborate with providers, case managers, family members, and others.
- May supervise assistants, aides, and students; provide ongoing education and training to peers as determined by leadership.
- Perform other related duties as requested by the manager.
- Work may focus on post-acute, long-term care, and home health care environments depending on facility/location.
- Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
- Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as Occupational Therapist.
- When working at a Sanford Health Facility (not required but preferred for GSS Facilities):
Must be certified through the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). - When applicable, may require a valid driver s license.
- Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
- In SD and IA, new graduates in the process of testing with the board may be considered with a temporary license.
