Electrical Assembler II – The Marvin Group

Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament testing equipment. Electrical Assembler II will be responsible for the manufacturing of Build-to-Print Alternate Mission Equipment (AME) designed for integration into military mechanical/electromechanical equipment. The role includes assembling, self-inspecting, testing, and modifying sub-systems, sub-units, assemblies, electronic and electromechanical components to include molding, adhesives, harnesses, and cables. This position requires onsite presence due to the nature of the role.
Responsibilities- Setup and operate various types of equipment, tools and fixtures/shop aids to fabricate and assemble electrical assemblies (such as calibrated hand tools, torque wrenches, crimping tools, calipers, and scales).
- Setup and perform manual and computer-controlled operations for assembly and testing (as required).
- Understand and use planning instructions and assembly drawings.
- Follow all policies and procedures to protect product from electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage.
- Adhere to Hi-REL soldering certification, specifications and procedures.
- Learn, participate, and apply various trainings into daily work.
- Verify that all components, consumables, equipment and calibration are within tolerance/expiration before using.
- Use Lean and 6S methodologies to improve and maintain an efficient work area.
- Perform other related duties as may be required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have 3-5 years of experience plus experience in 2-3 programs.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be able to read blueprints and/or schematics.
- IPC-610 and IPC-620 certifications or equivalent required.
- J-STD-001 soldered electrical & electronic assemblies certification required.
- Ability to perform moderate, demanding, physical and repetitive work.
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem, with the capability to produce new ideas and concepts.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated skills.
- Must be able to speak/read/write English.
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
- Manufacturing and/or machining environment.
- Fast paced, people and parts movement.
- The noise level is usually moderate to medium.
- Exposure to potential odors from chemicals and/or processes.
- Physically demanding.
- Use of personal protective equipment required.
