To serve the needs of students with speech and language needs in Big Hollow School District #38.
Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe duties listed below represent the essential functions of the position; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
- Provide direct support services for students with speech and language disabilities.
- Case manage students with primary speech and language needs, including responsibility for required special education documentation, in accordance with District procedures and ISBE guidelines.
- Provide speech and language assessments as part of initial and reevaluation case studies to determine eligibility for service and appropriate service delivery model.
- Attend IEP team meetings, department meetings, and other meetings as required to support student services and professional collaboration.
- Provide mentoring or supervision for the clinical fellowship year as needed.
- Follow District and State procedures for record keeping, reports, and forms.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain licensure and improve professional practice.
- Serves as a resource for parents, special education, and regular education staff for both regular and special education students.
- Maintains appropriate communication with parents, staff, and administration.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records and comply with IDEA, FERPA, ISBE regulations, and District policies.
- Other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.
As per the school calendar, as required by the State Board of Education and approved by the School Board.
Salary: The starting salary for this position is based on experience and qualifications, in accordance with the Board-approved salary schedule and applicable collective bargaining agreements.
