Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Purchase to oversee the entire purchase ecosystem of our unit. The role involves procurement of aromatic chemicals, pharma-based ingredients, and packaging materials such as corrugated boxes, mono cartons, applicators, bubble wraps, labels, adhesives, and other supplies as required. The candidate must have industry experience in Cosmetics, Perfumery, or Pharma and proven expertise in sourcing raw materials and chemicals critical to production.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Procurement Management
Handle procurement of raw materials including aromatic chemicals (benzene, toluene, xylene, benzyl acetate, eugenol, limonene, linalool, vanillin) and pharma-based ingredients (acetone, ethanol, methanol, hydrochloric acid, acetic acid, sodium hydroxide, chloroform).
Source and manage packaging materials: corrugated boxes, mono cartons, applicators, bubble wraps, labels, adhesives, etc.
Ensure timely procurement to support uninterrupted production and operations.
Vendor Development & Management
Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors specialized in chemicals and packaging supplies.
Maintain strong vendor relationships and conduct periodic performance reviews.
Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Negotiation & Cost Optimization
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
Monitor market trends for chemicals and packaging materials to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Ensure procurement within approved budgets.
Documentation & Compliance
Prepare and maintain purchase orders, contracts, and vendor records.
Ensure adherence to statutory and safety regulations for chemical procurement.
Coordinate with finance for timely vendor payments and reconciliations.
Cross-functional Coordination
Work closely with production, quality assurance, and logistics teams to align procurement with operational needs.
Resolve supply chain bottlenecks and ensure smooth flow of materials
Reporting & Analysis
Generate MIS reports on purchase spend, lead times, and vendor performance.
Provide insights for audits and management reviews.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of chemical procurement and packaging materials sourcing
Proficiency in Tally (mandatory) – no other ERP systems required
Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
Understanding of regulatory and safety requirements in handling chemicals
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications & Experience
Education - Graduate in Commerce/Science/Engineering; MBA in SCM preferred
Experience - 3- 5 years in procurement roles within Cosmetics, Perfumery, or Pharma
Industry Mandate - Mandatory – must have worked in procurement of aromatic chemicals and pharma-based ingredients
