Position Overview (OCI Cloud Admin)

We are looking for a skilled OCI Cloud Administrator to support our enterprise data migration initiative. The candidate will be responsible for administering OCI environments, executing database migrations from on premises to OCI, ensuring cloud security, and maintaining operational stability throughout the project. The ideal candidate has strong OCI hands-on experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a solid background in cloud networking and migration tools.

Key Responsibilities

1. OCI Environment Setup & Administration

- Provision and configure OCI resources such as:
- Compute Instances
- Block & Object Storage
- Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs), Subnets, Gateways
- Load Balancers
- Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Manage Resource Manager (Terraform) stacks for infrastructure deployment.

2. Data Migration Execution

- Database Migration using:
- OCI Database Migration service
- Oracle Data Pump (expdp/impdp)
- Golden Gate / Zero-Downtime Migration (ZDM)
- RMAN backups/restore to OCI
- Create and manage storage buckets for migration data.
- Optimize migration performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks.
- Ensure minimal downtime during cutover.

3. Security & Compliance

- Configure IAM policies, groups, dynamic groups, and auth tokens.
- Implement network security:
- Security lists / NSGs
- WAF
- VPN / Fast Connect connectivity
- Configure KMS for encryption of data at rest & in transit.
- Ensure compliance with security best practices and audit requirements.

4. Monitoring, Logging & Troubleshooting

- Configure and monitor:
- OCI Logging
- Monitoring & Alarms
- Events and Notifications
- Perform root cause analysis for cloud infrastructure and migration-related issues.

5. Operational Management

- Perform backups, snapshots, and resource lifecycle management.
- Optimize resource consumption and recommend cost-saving strategies.
- Manage tenancy quotas, tagging policies, and cloud governance.
- Collaborate with Oracle Support for troubleshooting SRs.

Required Skills & Experience

✔ Technical Skills

- 3–8 years of experience administering OCI or similar cloud environments.
- Deep knowledge of:
- OCI Core Services (Compute, Storage, Networking)
- Database services:
Autonomous DB, Exadata Cloud Service, DB Systems
- Onprem Oracle DB administration fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with at least one migration tool:
- Golden Gate
- Data Pump
- RDMA / ZDM
- DB Migration Service

- Experience with cloud networking (VCN, DRG, IPSec VPN, Load Balancers).
- Familiarity with Terraform or OCI Resource Manager.

✔ Soft Skills

- Strong analytical & troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with DBAs, infra teams, security teams.
- Good documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) certifications:
- OCI Architect Associate
- OCI Architect Professional
- OCI Operations Professional
- OCI Database Migration Specialist
- Experience in large-scale enterprise data migrations.
- Knowledge of Dev Ops tools (Ansible, Git, CI/CD).
