Merchandiser​/Buyer Fruit​/Fresh​/Perishable Senior Officer

Responsibilities

Oversee the procurement of Fruits, both imported and local, in alignment with the company’s product range and sales targets.

Ensure all Fresh & FMCG products meet quality standards while maintaining competitive pricing.

Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, build strong partnerships, and negotiate favorable terms to optimize cost efficiency.

Monitor and manage quality control (QC) processes for procured products to uphold company standards.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with stores, ensuring effective communication and execution of strategies, promotions, clearances, and key focus areas.

Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports on procurement spending and category performance.

Minimum Diploma Degree in any field

Have experience min. 3 years of experience in merchandiser, purchasing or local buyer roles
, preferably in the Retail, Supermarket, or Hypermarket industry.

Strong understanding of Fresh especially Fruits product, market trends, and consumer preferences.

Strong experience across multiple homeware sub-categories, with an established network of supplier contacts.

Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment, working effectively with cross-functional teams.

Passionate about buying and sourcing, with a strong understanding of compliance considerations and a commitment to securing market‑leading deals.

Adaptable and resilient, able to work under tight deadlines and navigate changes in the dynamic retail industry.

Excellent negotiation skills, with a track record of establishing and maintaining positive vendor relationships.

Highly honest, responsible, proactive, and creative, with a strong work ethic.

Proficiency in English is a must.
