About the job Construction and Earthwork Manager
The Construction and , Earthwork Managers, oversees and directs all aspects of large-scale earth-moving construction projects, including planning, execution and budget management, to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee detailed long-term and short-term production plans.
- Coordinate all project resources, including personnel, heavy equipment, and construction materials.
- Manage project budgets, track expenditures rigorously, and forecast costs to ensure strict adherence to financial objectives.
- Lead, train, and mentor on-site teams and supervise subcontractors, ensuring high performance and adherence to project goals.
- Monitor all work to guarantee the quality meets or exceeds contractual and design requirements.
- Provide essential technical guidance and support to the on-site team, including overseeing equipment maintenance and operations.
- Ensure all activities strictly comply with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, including conducting regular safety inspections and managing statutory responsibilities.
- Serve as the primary liaison, effectively communicating project progress and addressing issues with clients, suppliers, corporate management, and government bodies.
- Utilize strong independent problem-solving skills to adapt to changing environments and resolve complex issues under pressure.
Requirements:
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience developing greenfield construction projects in challenging terrain.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Mining, Engineering (or a related field).
- Strong leadership and communication skills, essential for managing diverse teams and interacting effectively with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in core project management disciplines, including project scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
- A strong understanding of civil design, complex earthworks operations, heavy equipment, and industry best practices.
