Keywords Studios Asia is currently looking to expand its team. We’re currently calling for expressions of interest from AAA, experienced Environment Artists. These opportunities can be located in either Malaysia, or Indonesia (Remote). This is a permanent, full time position.
Keywords Studios is a global leader providing art services to AAA Publishers. Our work can be seen across many of the top selling titles on console and PC. We’ve secured an exciting AAA IP project and are anticipating further project announcements early in 2026. You’ll get to work alongside Matt Bell, our Studio Art Director, who’s previously worked with Krome Studios, Ubisoft, and Bandai Namco.
At Keywords Studios we are looking for an accomplished, enthusiastic and self‑motivated Environment Artist to join our team working on an exciting, new and unannounced project.
What you will do- Create high‑quality environment art.
- Build, iterate, and optimise environments that support gameplay, narrative, and artistic direction.
- Collaborate closely with art direction, level design, and tech art to build performant and visually impressive worlds.
- Have a good understanding of modular and kit‑based approaches to environment art.
- Troubleshoot issues related to performance, consistency, or technical constraints across platforms.
- Contribute to visual benchmarks and help establish best practices for environment art workflows.
- Have a good understanding of textures and materials and how to optimally create and apply them across an environment.
- Proven experience as an Environment Artist (5+ years) on a shipped AAA or high‑quality game project.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating environment art fundamentals and processes.
- Proficiency with modern game engines (Unreal, Unity or proprietary engines).
- Lighting experience, general understanding of lighting workflows (baking, performance impacts).
- Experience with P workflows and optimisation for real‑time environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and iterate quickly based on feedback.
- Experience profiling, debugging, or scripting for workflow automation.
- You must have the appropriate working rights to live and work in Malaysia, Indonesia. Sponsorship is not being offered.
