RN Behavioral Health (Full-Time Days & Nights) at Coachella Valley Behavioral Health, Indio, CA

Hourly rate range: $52.00 to $62.34 per hour.

Coachella Valley Behavioral Health is a new, state‑of‑the‑art inpatient facility providing clinically excellent treatment for adults with mental health concerns and substance use disorders. Located in Indio, CA, it is the only such facility in the area.

Compensation varies based on location, role, skill set and experience. As required by local law, a reasonable hourly range is provided for roles in California.

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about conditions.
• Provide nursing care within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined by the state Nurse Practice Act, policies, procedures and protocols.
• Ensure physicians’ orders are legible if taken verbally and transcribed appropriately.
• Continuously assess patients’ status and document pertinent information.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in status such as detox difficulties, medical emergencies and medication responses.
• Ensure initial nursing treatment plans are completed upon admission and specific to assessed needs.
• Demonstrate knowledge and use of universal precautions in direct patient care.
• Accurately administer medications as ordered.
• Document accurate counts of controlled substance medication administration on required documents.
• Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently and accurately.
• Exhibit therapeutic rapport while maintaining professional boundaries and rational detachment.
• Provide direction or coordinate unit activities as directed.
• Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, co‑workers and others involved in inpatient treatment.

• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to practice nursing in the state of employment.
• Minimum one year of nursing experience; prior psychiatric, mental, behavioral or substance abuse nursing experience is a plus.
• CPR and de‑escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
