Charge Nurse ICU Nights

JFK Memorial Hospital has provided medical care to residents in the Coachella Valley since 1966. A group of physicians, including Dr. Reynaldo Carreon, founded the hospital, and today one of JFK's cross streets is named in his honor.

Originally called Indio Community Hospital, JFK has grown to a 145-bed acute-care hospital that is part of Tenet Healthcare California. It offers a variety of services, including:

• Maternity care and pediatric services
• Ambulatory surgery center
• Imaging services
• Outpatient Rehabilitation Center

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) in critical care performs the clinical role of coordinating the care of the critically ill patient. The PCC independently cares for critically ill patients of all acuity levels, manages ventilated patients, and can titrate vasoactive medications based on dysrhythmias and advanced hemodynamic parameters. The PCC can assist and mentor staff on bedside procedures commonly performed in critical care.

The PCC practices independently, encourages autonomy among team members, and supervises unit activities as assigned. The PCC helps develop critical thinking skills in staff, assumes a leadership role in daily unit operations and the Rapid Response Team, and assists with hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating staff performance. The PCC maintains staffing levels to meet patient needs and budget goals, ensures equipment and supplies are available, and develops performance improvement projects to enhance patient outcomes.

The PCC also serves as a member of the ICU Rapid Response Team.
