Position Overview

The Festivals POS Support role is responsible for ensuring all point-of-sale (POS) systems across our festival footprint are fully operational, accurate, and optimized for fast-paced, high-volume environments. This position works closely with Operations, Finance, Bars, Culinary, Purchasing, and Vendor teams to ensure seamless transaction processing, proper menu builds, device functionality, reporting accuracy, and on-site troubleshooting.

This is a hands‑on role supporting some of the largest festivals in the country—requiring strong technical ability, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to thrive in high-pressure, rapidly shifting environments.

Key Responsibilities POS Systems Management
  • Build, maintain, and manage POS menus for all festival zones, concepts, and vendors.
  • Set up item programming, tax structures, discount codes, tip settings, and reporting parameters.
  • Ensure POS data accuracy matches festival settlements, vendor commissions, and financial requirements.
Device Setup & Deployment
  • Prepare, update, and configure all POS terminals, handheld devices, printers, routers, and kiosks.
  • Coordinate with IT partners for network setup, connectivity, and device inventory management.
  • Build and maintain a POS asset tracking log for each festival.
On‑Site Festival Support
  • Lead on‑site POS installation, testing, troubleshooting, and go‑live support.
  • Support Ops teams, vendor partners, supervisors, and cash room staff with POS functionality.
  • Provide rapid response to device issues to ensure uninterrupted sales operations.
  • Train festival staff and vendors on POS usage, menu navigation, discounts, and best practices.
Reporting & Data Accuracy
  • Reconcile sales reports daily, ensuring alignment with real-time dashboards.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies related to taxes, tips, item mappings, vendor splits, and cost centers.
  • Provide post‑event reporting summaries to Operations, Finance, and Leadership.
Vendor & Client Collaboration
  • Act as liaison between Levy Festivals, POS providers, vendors, and clients.
  • Communicate POS needs, timelines, expectations, and tech requirements in advance of every festival.
  • Support vendor onboarding with menu submission, pricing validation, and device allocation.
Continuous Improvement
  • Recommend enhancements to POS systems, festival processes, and reporting automation.
  • Document SOPs for POS build‑outs, troubleshooting, and festival workflows.
  • Assist with testing new POS platforms, software updates, and hardware.
Qualifications
  • Experience with POS platforms (Square, Toast, Clover, Appetize, or similar).
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills and comfort with software/hardware.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple festivals and timelines.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to explain tech to both tech‑savvy and tech‑averse users.
  • Capable of working long hours, nights, weekends, and extended on‑site festival days.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently.
  • Calm under pressure (festival chaos is real).
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (terminal kits, printers, cables, etc.).
