Position: Esthetician (On-Call)

Overview

Position Summary: The Esthetician is responsible for providing expert skin care treatments, and skin care knowledge appropriate for each guest. Performs facials, hand treatments, and depilatory waxing while providing personalized skin care products.

Salary: $16.90/hr.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • A warm personality, attentive, and presentable.
  • Committed to delivering high levels of customer service.
  • Responds courteously and efficiently to queries and problems from guests, and all staff.
  • Collaborate with clients on areas of concentration or to avoid in order to create the best experience possible.
  • Discretely review guest’s medical history and injuries to provide best care.
  • Become familiar with the Spa treatment menu to guide guests, add on to services.
  • Continue to review treatment protocols to ensure you are being consistent with the service provided and improve guest experience.
  • Actively engage with guests to understand their wellness goals, recommend tailored service and enhancements and service upgrades, and suggest professional home-care products or techniques to extend the benefits of their treatment.
  • Complete Daily checklist and ensure the room is maintained, equipment and tools you use with the highest levels of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Keep the Spa leadership team up to date on any items that need to be re-ordered or repaired.
  • Work with the members of your team to provide the best service and a healthy, positive working environment.
  • Knowledge of all spa working equipment with the ability to handle emergencies.
  • Focus on surprise and delights for guests and resolve concerns/complaints to the best of your ability.
  • Teach and model guest service, technical skills, procedural skills, safety guidelines.
  • Perform other tasks associated as necessary in order to achieve the service, financial and other stated goals of the spa.

Supportive functions In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

  • Attend all mandatory meetings.
  • Report all suspicious persons or activities, hazardous conditions.
  • Provide general public assistance, instruction and/or guidance for guests and employee safety in the event of an emergency.
  • Utilizes product efficiently, maintains product inventory and room cleanliness. Completes commission reports accurately and timely.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross training.
  • Keep work area neat and organized.
  • Report equipment and supply needs to supervisors immediately.
  • Performs expert skin care treatment and aromatherapy. All treatments are to be performed to specific guidelines for stress relief, relaxation and cleansing.
  • Provides knowledge to the guest for continued skin care utilizing products sold at the Spa.
Qualifications

Prerequisites:

  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be mature, pleasant, courteous, cooperative and an enthusiastic team player who displays good human relations’ skills.
  • Must be flexible in working hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • Knowledge of cosmetics and aromatherapy.
  • Proficient in performing skin care treatments for hand, foot, neck shoulders and décolleté.
  • Proficient in advising client on personal skin care.

Education/

Experience:

  • Essential: High School graduate.
  • Valid CA cosmetology License clinical training hours completed.
  • Ability to communicate well with guests and all staff.
  • Previous experience.
  • Desirable: Previous experience in a Resort setting.
  • Previous experience in guest service.

  • Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions, and perform job functions with limited supervision.
