- Low cost benefits, 401k match, Morning & Night Routes, start times are 6a for 1st shift & 6p for 2nd shift, with opporutunities to work 5 days. Typical shifts are 10-12 hours.

SUMMARY

Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tractor-trailer or box truck to deliver finished product to customers in accordance with state and federal laws

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Complies with Driver responsibilities as outlined in company DAART program and as required by DOT...

• Maintain vehicle in accordance to Elkhart Transportation management policy

• Operates vehicle in a safe and efficient manner complying with company policy and procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.

• Support on time delivery by transporting loads by established route to proper destination as efficient as possible while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.

• Inspect trailer loads to ensure proper loading processes and it is the correct load before leaving facility.

• Verify product count while truck is being loaded.

• Comply with obtaining correct acknowledgement or signature and date for bill of lading and necessary signatures and date; return properly completed documentation to Transportation Manager.

• Comply with performance measures

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required

• CDLA License

Experience

• Prior experience driving in large vehicles, such as box truck or similar

• Demonstrated experience practicing safe driving practices

• Previous experience delivering and handling freight preferred

• The employee is frequently exposed to wet and or humid conditions.

• The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles and vibration.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

On the road, the employee may encounter traffic or other hazardous driving conditions.
