Repair or replace defective or worn parts such as valves, hatch covers, components, and gates using hand tools and welding equipment.;
Read blueprints and ensure repairs comply with FRA & AAR rules; maintain repair records.;
Inspect bearings, seals, gaskets, wheels, and coupler assemblies to determine repairs needed.;
Perform scheduled maintenance and test operability before and after repairs.;
Remove car mechanical units using pneumatic hoists and jacks; align car ends and install fittings per blueprints.
