Duties
* Receives, reviews, and submits requests for personnel clearances for serviced civilian, contractor, and military personnel.
* Uses computer software such as analysis tools to research and facilitate work.
* Performs duties related to assisting suitability adjudications/determinations for the fitness and suitability of civilian employees, contractors and/or applicants for initial and continuing employment retention.
* Executes established policies and procedures required for the personnel security program.
* Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of employment
* National Guard Membership is required. If you are not sure if you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
* This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard.
* Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
* Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
* Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
* Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
* Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
* May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
* Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
* This position is INDEFINITE NTE 24 months, with possible extension up to 60 months, and permanent potential.
* Attend the ARNG Security Manager Course within 12 months of hire.
* Obtain the Security Professional Certification(s) within 24 months of hire.
* This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a top secret clearance.
* Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
* This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.
* The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial vehicles to perform temporary duty assignments. Qualifications MILITARY GRADES: E4 through E7, WO1 through CW3, or O1 through O3 COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 17 series, 35 series, and 42 series. GENERAL EXPERIENCE :
Experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels.
Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career. SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE:
Experience, training, and/or knowledge in progressively responsible work that demonstrates the candidate's full competency (Knowledge, Skill, Ability, and Behaviors) to perform tasks and responsibilities as described in the pertinent position description. It includes military administration, military security, and/or personnel management experience that prepares the applicant to perform the duties and responsibilities to achieve the required competency levels as defined by the applicable position description..
Ability to determine eligibility for access to classified and controlled unclassified information and granting personnel security clearance and access in the presence of minor derogatory information. Skill in oral and written communication sufficient to write reports, conduct presentations, and/or clearly communicate personnel security processes, regulations, or training. Knowledge, training or experience in security police, information security, sensitive compartmental information, force protection, anti-terrorism, information protection, security police training, and/or physical security.
Must have at least one year of equivalent specialized experience to the next lower grade level.
