Stepdown Registered Nurse - Indianapolis, Indiana

This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse with experience in Stepdown/Progressive Care, based in Indianapolis, IN. The position is a contract role supporting the Surgical Progressive Care Unit (SPCU) at a 23-bed acute care facility known for its cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgery patient population. Situated in Indianapolis, the facility is conveniently accessible and equipped with modern healthcare technology, including the EPIC electronic medical record system. Schedule/Hours:

• Day shift:
• Weekend rotation:
  Every 3rd weekend, Saturday and Sunday
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36

Qualifications and Experience:

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Stepdown or Progressive Care nursing
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Experience with EPIC EMR is highly preferred
• Ability to float to other Stepdown/PCUs as needed

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries
• Manage patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 to 1:4
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care
• Document patient progress accurately within the EPIC EMR system
• Adhere to facility standards, including wearing navy scrubs as part of the dress code
