Iu health is now offering charge pay, which is a $3.00 bill rate bump per hour must be flexible with weekend requirements, weekend requirement will be based on unit needs. Travelers must be able to work 50% of the weekends in their contract. Refusal to float may end in termination of contract iu health university and methodist are teaching facilities and require all travel nurses to agree to the possibility of precepting and/or being assigned students to shadow them while on assignment.

*** call-ins: if a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to
1) make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 fte. Or
2) if a 0.9 fte and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract
3) if a 1.2 fte, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract
*** charge coverage: pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources. Certification requirements: acls, bcls, nihss skillset requirements: minimum 2 year required, telemetry, proficient neuro experience, and management of drips skillset preferences: conscious sedation and level 1 trauma experience floating requirements: unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (med-surg, pcu, icu) with resources provided if needed at both university and methodist hospitals staffing ratios: 1:3-4 (will rarely see 5 during emergencies) unit information: cvas, hydrocephalus, brain tumors and resections, seizures, and tbis;

shooting, stabbings, mvcs, people falling over rugs etc. Gi surgeries and large wound cleaning and closures. Effective 11/30/24, iu health will not allow in rn's to work at their facilities (see exceptions below).
** periop/or rn's, allied and ambulatory rn travelers are exempt from this rule. These in travelers are allowed to work past the 11/30 deadline. Periop includes endo, ir rn, pacu, cath lab rn, sds**
