Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Iu health is now offering charge pay, which is a $3.00 bill rate bump per hour must be flexible with weekend requirements, weekend requirement will be based on unit needs. Travelers must be able to work 50% of the weekends in their contract. Iu health university and methodist are teaching facilities and require all travel nurses to agree to the possibility of precepting and/or being assigned students to shadow them while on assignment.

*** call-ins: if a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to
1) make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 fte. Or
2) if a 0.9 fte and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract
3) if a 1.2 fte, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract
*** charge coverage: pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources. Certification requirements: bcls skillset requirements: minimum 2 year experience and level 1 trauma experience preferred floating requirements: unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (med-surg, pcu, icu) with resources provided if needed at both university and methodist hospitals staffing ratios: 1:5-6 unit information: gsw, blunt trauma, stab wounds, mvc, falls, orthopedic injuries, ostomies, hernia repairs, skin flaps, significant wounds, surgical drains effective 11/30/24, iu health will not allow in rn's to work at their facilities (see exceptions below).
