Firefly Children & Family Alliance is looking for a full-time Director of Foundation Relations
. The role of the Director of Foundation Relations includes overseeing the preparation of all grant proposals to support the agency s strategic plan. The position also provides supervision and leadership for the Grants Coordinator and post-award management process. Candidate must have excellent organization and written communication skills, a keen understanding of fundraising principles, and an ability to multitask.

Management (25%)
- Provide ongoing supervision for Grants Coordinator.
- Hire, develop, hold accountable and if necessary, terminate program staff.
- Mentor staff through training, inspiration and encouragement.
- Hold staff accountable to service standards and ensure the processes are followed according to fundraising code of ethics.
Prospect Research (20%)
- Research and initiate relationships with new prospective funders.
- Write letters of inquiry and solicitation.
- Match prospective funding sources with institutional priorities.
- Participate in recurring meetings to identify new prospects and strategize about funding priorities.
Grant Writing and Solicitation (40%)
- Draft compelling grant proposal narratives for general operating and restricted project grants; assist with drafting corporate proposals as needed.
- Work with accounting and programmatic directors to prepare grant budgets that meet funder guidelines.
- Work cross-departmentally to assemble and submit applications by due dates.
- Verify that proposals have been received and that appropriate follow-up has occurred.
Stewardship (15%)
- Work with grants coordinator project directors to ensure grant-funded projects are on track and that obligations are fulfilled within the terms of the grant agreement.
- Submit project revisions to funders as necessary.
- Work cross-departmentally to collect statistical information.
- At least five years of progressive experience in grants or fundraising-related role and previous supervisory experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, philanthropy, English, or related field;
Master’s degree preferred. - GPA or related certification preferred.
- Understanding of and ability to work effectively across programs.
- Driven to ensure work quality meets established standards and guidelines.
- Committed to meeting deadlines.
- Collaborative and interacts well with a broad spectrum of individuals.
- Demonstrates appreciation for and ability to respond to cultural differences.
- Adept at multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
