Apple Tree Staffing is hiring a Composites Assembly Technician for one of our premier manufacturing clients in Indianapolis! This full-time, hands-on position is perfect for someone who enjoys precision work, problem-solving, and working with advanced materials like fiberglass and carbon fiber.
This company focuses on the design, analysis, and development of high-performance composite structures for race vehicles, aerospace, and defense industries.
As a Composites Assembly Technician, you'll play a key role in fabricating and assembling high-quality composite parts by following blueprints and technical instructions. You'll work in a clean, safety-focused environment where attention to detail and craftsmanship are valued.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assembly: Join composite components using methods such as resin bonding, riveting, and fastener installation - including combining metallic and composite structures.
- Fabrication: Trim, sand, grind, and fit parts to meet detailed specifications and work instructions.
- Tooling & Fixturing: Set up and align parts using jigs, fixtures, clecos, and clamps to ensure proper fit and finish.
- Installation: Install inserts, potting compounds, fasteners, and perform safety wiring as required.
- Finishing: Apply coatings, sealants, and primers to completed assemblies to ensure a durable, high-quality finish.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret work instructions, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately.

Skills:
Skilled in using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and precision measuring instruments for drilling, countersinking, and deburring. - Composite
Experience:
Knowledge of composite materials - including safe handling, preparation, and disposal of resins, adhesives, and chemicals. - Quality Focus: Strong attention to detail for performing inspections, identifying defects, and ensuring products meet strict quality standards.
- Safety Mindset: Follows all safety guidelines and uses PPE appropriately when working with tools and materials.
- Set up jigs and fixtures to position and align parts correctly for assembly.
- Drill and deburr holes to precise specifications for fastener installation.
- Mix and apply resins and bonding materials to join parts.
- Inspect completed assemblies for quality and accuracy.
- Maintain accurate documentation of completed work and inspection logs.
