OVERVIEW:
The Information Technology Intern will support the Museum's Information Technology team on two primary initiatives: implementing a policy management software solution and providing operational IT support. This internship offers hands-on experience working with IT staff and Museum departments to standardize and deploy policies, assist with a laptop refresh, and troubleshoot help desk tickets while gaining exposure to day-to-day IT operations in a large, complex organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with IT staff to review, update, standardize, and deploy IT policies and procedures within the Museum's policy management software.
- Meet with departments across the Museum to support them in preparing and publishing policies and procedures in the policy management system.
- Assist the Help Desk Analyst with imaging, deploying, and refreshing laptops for Museum staff.
- Troubleshot hardware and software help desk tickets as assigned.
- Document processes, procedures, and updates related to IT operations and policy deployment.
- Support additional IT operational projects as needed.
- Jr or above standing and currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Experience working with a variety of software applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technically proficient and non-technical users.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic computer hardware and software issues.
- Experience with standard software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with technical writing related to governance, policies, or procedures preferred.
- Previous experience with IT support or help desk work preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to read, write, and edit technical documentation, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with staff through written and verbal communication, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to use standard office and computer equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
