Key Responsibilities

* Design systems to safely, efficiently, and effectively transport drinking water and/or wastewater to and from end users, including pumping and storage projects

* Assist senior design staff in design of water and/or wastewater treatment plant projects

* Review and analyze drainage systems for storm water or floodplains to ensure safety of the ecosystem and public; designs necessary conveyance systems to safeguard the area.

* Assess the need for drinking water and/or wastewater treatment systems based on current and projected future population and/or development demands; conducts feasibility studies for the construction of public utility infrastructure to meet identified needs

* Analyze, or assist with analysis of, various water and/or wastewater treatment technologies, and recommend the most effective method

* Design and develop specifications for various pumping and force main systems

* Collaborate with contractors and government agencies regarding construction of assigned projects

* Ensure design and equipment specifications comply with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and codes

* Conduct feasibility and related studies regarding the collection, treatment, or distribution of water or wastewater, and prepare written technical reports

* Provide clients with technical support and subject matter expertise on water resources related issues

* Conduct appropriate cost-benefit analyses for assigned projects.

* Align with marketing team on RFPs, presentations and scoping projects

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

* BS or MS in Civil Engineering

* Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer

* Experience designing water treatment plants, in part or in whole, a plus

* 5+ years of experience in public infrastructure projects related to Water Resources field

* Project and / or Client Management experience is required

* Ability to guide junior staff as well as participate in the design and detailing of all aspects of small- to large-scale multi-discipline water/wastewater projects of varying technical complexity

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication, as well as time management skills

* Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines and other assigned project parameters

* Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
