Job Title: Prognostics & Health Management (PHM) Engineer - F130

Working Pattern: Full time

Working location: Indianapolis, IN/Hybrid - 3 Office Days/Week)

The Rolls-Royce PHM-SDI team is seeking a skilled Prognostics & Health Management (PHM) capability to design, develop, and deploy diagnostics and engine management capabilities for F130 (B52) program. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that engine health algorithms are developed, verified, delivered, and implemented to capture critical engine health data. This data will be structured, stored, and made accessible to support analytics, machine learning models, and decision-making systems.

This is a high-level technical role that require a strong understanding of gas turbine engine operation and behavior, combined with solid data and analytics skills. The role includes hand-on work with data pipelines, algorithms development, and analysis/visualization to support predictive maintenance and fleet health monitoring.

What you will be doing
  • Developing condition indicators and health indicators, implementing fault detection, fault isolation, and fault accommodation logics, creating predictive and prognostics algorithms
  • Contributing to the development of a PHM platform and its integration with other enterprise systems
  • Interfacing with customers to understand customer's requirements, provide technical presentations and reports.
  • Supporting F130 engine's systems and components, module and flight testing to assist in the maturation of PHM algorithms.
  • Performing system level analysis to predict and understand the behavior of the F130 engine in service to provide support for engineering investigations including Red Top Investigations and Safety Alert Reports.
  • Collaborating with other F130 teams and the PHM engineering capability to use best practices and good knowledge management practices.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science and 2+ years of experience in PHM/EHM system design, data analysis, data engineering, software development, OR
  • Master's Degree in Engineering or Science, OR
  • JD/PHD
  • Must be U.S. Citizen to be considered for this opportunity
Preferred Requirements:
  • Understanding of gas turbine engine operation and performance
  • Experience with PHM/EHM algorithms, diagnostics, or condition-based maintenance
  • Strong background in data engineering and data pipelines
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and algorithm development
