Job Summary: As an entry‑level Civil Engineer at Black & Veatch, you will play a meaningful role in addressing some of the world’s most critical infrastructure challenges. - Develop familiarity by reading, understanding and applying departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and company policies and procedures.
- Develop an understanding and comply with the company quality program, supporting continuous improvement and change management efforts.
- Contribute to preparation of less complex engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications, and studies of limited scope.
- Perform routine research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
- Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work.
- Prepare basic engineering calculations following standard methods and principles used in similar engineering analysis.
- Understand and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Share information with others as requested and coordinate with others when directed by supervisor or project leadership.
- Focus on the needs of internal clients while attempting to gain a basic understanding of external client’s main interests and drivers, and may provide support to business development or pursuit activities.
- Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Prior internship in water sector or water courses.
- Problem solving.

Dealing with ambiguity. - Basic knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline.
- Basic industry knowledge and technology trends.
- Basic knowledge of company quality program.
- Basic knowledge of construction and constructability practices and principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program in home or practicing country.
- Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search).
Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager direction, job performance and work assignments.
