Job Summary: As an entry‑level Civil Engineer at Black & Veatch, you will play a meaningful role in addressing some of the world’s most critical infrastructure challenges. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop familiarity by reading, understanding and applying departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and company policies and procedures.
  • Develop an understanding and comply with the company quality program, supporting continuous improvement and change management efforts.
  • Contribute to preparation of less complex engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications, and studies of limited scope.
  • Perform routine research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
  • Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work.
  • Prepare basic engineering calculations following standard methods and principles used in similar engineering analysis.
  • Understand and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Share information with others as requested and coordinate with others when directed by supervisor or project leadership.
  • Focus on the needs of internal clients while attempting to gain a basic understanding of external client’s main interests and drivers, and may provide support to business development or pursuit activities.
  • Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Prior internship in water sector or water courses.
  • Problem solving.
  • Written communications.
  • Drive for results.
  • Informing and listening.

    Dealing with ambiguity.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline.
  • Basic industry knowledge and technology trends.
  • Basic knowledge of company quality program.
  • Basic knowledge of construction and constructability practices and principles.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program in home or practicing country.
  • Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search).
Work Environment / Physical Demands

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager direction, job performance and work assignments.
