About the Role
CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Aviation Engineering Manager to join our Aviation Team in Indianapolis, IN
. The role focuses on leading the design and implementation of integrated solutions across airside, landside, and facility‑related airport systems. You will own high‑impact projects, mentor emerging engineers, and help modernize airports for a brighter future.
- Organize, direct, and coordinate activities related to airport infrastructure projects, such as runways, taxiways, and terminals, from initial assessment through planning and design.
- Collaborate with aviation team leadership to manage and motivate a high‑performing group of technical professionals, ensuring excellence in project delivery and achieving team utilization goals.
- Effectively manage project budgets, scope, and schedules to deliver successful outcomes for critical aviation initiatives.
- Engage with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are exceeded throughout each phase.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required.
- Minimum of 4 years of discipline‑specific engineering experience; prior project or team management experience preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Advanced proficiency in engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, Micro Station, etc.), and Microsoft Office.
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency in aviation infrastructure and systems.
- Strategic thinker capable of guiding and motivating team activity and resolving issues with urgency.
- Articulate and persuasive communicator, both one‑on‑one and in front of large groups.
- Experience with project budgeting preferred; basic understanding of accounting processes.
- Participation in professional engineering societies or organizations preferred.
- Lead challenging infrastructure projects that support airport safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.
- Mentor and inspire junior engineers dedicated to delivering sustainable solutions.
- Collaborate with talented professionals across disciplines in a flexible work environment.
$120,000 – $130,000 per year. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
