Our team supports the rapidly growing north and west Indianapolis suburbs, prioritizing safety, teamwork, and a supportive environment where physicians can provide meaningful, focused inpatient care.
Community IU OBGYN is seeking a Board Certified OB Laborist (PRN) to join our established inpatient obstetric group. This role focuses exclusively on hospital-based obstetric care, managing laboring patients, supporting certified nurse midwives, responding to obstetric emergencies, and ensuring safe, high-quality delivery experiences within well-equipped L&D units.

Position Highlights

  • PRN OB Laborist opportunity providing flexible coverage
  • Provide intrapartum, antepartum, and postpartum inpatient obstetric care
  • Obstetric ED coverage and triage management
  • Procedures include:
    Vaginal deliveries, Cesarean deliveries, D&C
  • IU Health North:
    Level III NICU with on-site MFM support; high-risk patients transferred to Riley Maternity Tower (Level IV NICU).
  • IU Health West:
    Level II NICU supporting a high-volume suburban maternity service.
  • IU Health Fishers:
    Newly expanded maternity program with a dedicated Labor & Delivery unit and Special Care Nursery offering Level II capabilities, part of a major campus expansion serving a rapidly growing community.
  • 100% clinical, inpatient-only role within a supportive, team-based model
  • Work alongside experienced L&D nurses, certified nurse midwives, anesthesia, and MFM colleagues

Qualifications

  • MD/DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • Eligible for Indiana medical licensure
