The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Indiana University Health and the Indiana University School of Medicine is seeking a Board-Certified Gynecologic Oncologist at the rank of Associate or Full Professor to serve as Division Chief of Gynecologic Oncology. This full-time faculty role leads a growing team of five gynecologic oncologists and three advanced practice providers, with plans for continued expansion.
IU Health is Indiana’s premier academic health system and primary referral center, supporting the largest medical school in the nation, a residency program of 10 residents per year, and multiple fellowships, including a pending Gynecologic Oncology fellowship application.
Clinical Environment
Primary practice sites include IU University Hospital and the Simon Cancer Center, Indiana’s only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. Additional care locations include IU North Hospital in Carmel and Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, with planned expansion to IU Arnett in Lafayette. Faculty also support complex obstetrical emergencies at Riley Hospital for Children.
Role Highlights
The Division Chief will lead efforts in advanced open, robotic, and laparoscopic surgery; chemotherapy; oncology consultation; and access to clinical trials. The division supports multidisciplinary cancer care with radiation oncology, pathology, genomics, social work, patient navigation, palliative care, and other supportive services.
IU School of Medicine offers strong support for research and educational advancement. The selected leader will contribute to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and may engage in clinical trials, surgical simulation training, didactics, quality improvement, and committee leadership. The role requires collaboration in a diverse, team-based academic environment.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology (ABOG)
- Associate or Full Professor rank preferred
- Demonstrated leadership experience with commitment to clinical care, education, and research
- Expertise in full-scope gynecologic cancer management, including minimally invasive surgery and chemotherapy
- Strong interpersonal and team-based collaboration skills
- Clinical trials experience preferred
- Interest and experience in medical education
- Eligible for Indiana medical licensure
- Not eligible for visa sponsorship
