Accounting Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team on a Contract to permanent employment basis in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with company policies. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise in accounting while growing within the organization.

Responsibilities:

- Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently.

- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.

- Handle billing functions, including generating invoices and tracking payments.

- Record and post journal entries to maintain correct financial data.

- Manage payment posting and ensure proper allocation within company systems.

- Review insurance and contract documents for financial accuracy and completeness.

- Collaborate with team members to maintain organized and updated accounting files.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

- Support month-end and year-end close processes as needed. Requirements - Proficiency in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

- Solid understanding of billing procedures and account reconciliation.

- Familiarity with general accounting principles and practices.

- Capability to post journal entries and manage financial records.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

- Experience with financial software or systems is preferred.

- Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
