Senior Accountant

Creative Financial Staffing has partnered with a well-known non-profit organization in the downtown Indianapolis area. They are looking to add a Senior Accountant to the accounting team and will move quickly for the right candidate.

• The Senior Accountant reports directly to the Assistant Controller, providing general ledger accounting oversight and supporting financial reporting services for the organization and its supporting partners

Overview of the Senior Accountant role:

• Monthly financial statement review/preparation
• Heavy balance sheet and subledger account reconciliations
• Determine and implement process improvements
• Create audit schedules and supporting documentation
• Develop, mentor, and lead lower level staff
• Assist with all organization tax prep and regulatory filings
• Other ad hoc tasks and duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Minimum 5 years full cycle general ledger experience
• Sound knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit-specific accounting knowledge a plus
• Strong excel skills
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
