Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role involves providing critical support to the accounting department during a leave period. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in dealership accounting or familiarity with organizational systems.

Responsibilities:

- Process and manage accounts payable activities, including invoice coding and payment reconciliation.

- Ensure timely and accurate handling of Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check runs.

- Collaborate with the team to maintain proper account coding and documentation.

- Review invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies.

- Assist in resolving discrepancies and addressing vendor inquiries.

- Maintain organized records of all payable transactions for audits and reporting.

- Support the department in addressing urgent tasks during team member absence.

- Utilize accounting systems efficiently to streamline workflows and maintain accuracy.

- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.

- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to optimize accounts payable processes. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable functions, including invoice processing and payment reconciliation.

- Knowledge of dealership accounting practices or organizational systems.

- Strong proficiency with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check runs.

- Ability to accurately code invoices and accounts.

- Familiarity with accounting software and tools to manage payable functions.

- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Effective communication abilities to collaborate with teams and vendors.

- Reliable and adaptable to handle a fast-paced work environment.
