Overview –
Essential Functions:
- Advise supervisor on status of all accounts.
- Assist management with budget request preparation.
- Develop and recommend new accounting methods and procedures.
- Provide guidance to program staff on funding-related accounting matters.
- Develop and maintain fiscal program policies.
- Coordinate computerized accounting system use.
- Certify accuracy of financial records and accounts.
- Analyze and interpret financial statements and reports.
- Control appropriated fund flow.
- Interact with and respond to state and federal auditors.
- Make adjustments to close books.
- Provide mail room backup when needed.
- Prior experience in an accounting role — 2 years
- Prior experience analyzing and preparing financial reports — 2 years
- Prior experience developing and maintaining fiscal policies — 2 years
- High School Diploma
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and Excel — 1 year
- Efficient and accurate data entry experience — 1 year
- Strong oral and written communication skills — 1 year
- Customer Service experience — 1 year
- Prior experience communicating with state and federal audit representatives — 2 years
- Prior experience using People Soft Financials
- Prior experience working with State, County or Federal Budgets
- Associate’s degree or higher in Accounting
- Mid-Senior level
