We're seeking a proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our operations team, where you'll play a key role in dispatching drivers, managing customer relationships, and brokering freight to keep shipments moving smoothly and profitably.

Job Summary

As a Logistics Coordinator, you'll handle a dynamic mix of account management, driver coordination, and freight brokering. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at communication, and enjoys building relationships with customers, drivers, and carriers while contributing to revenue through smart load matching and negotiation.

• Coordinate daily dispatching:
  Assign loads to drivers, schedule pickups/deliveries, track shipments in real-time, and resolve any issues to ensure on-time performance.
• Manage customer communications:
  Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, provide updates, handle inquiries, resolve concerns, and build long-term relationships.
• Broker freight:
  Source and negotiate with external carriers/brokers for spot loads or overflow capacity, secure competitive rates, and match freight to available equipment for maximum efficiency and profitability.
• Monitor and update load status using TMS/load boards (e.g., DAT, Truckstop) and communicate proactively with drivers, shippers, and receivers.
• Handle documentation:
  Prepare bills of lading, confirm delivery proofs, manage compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations, and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with the team to optimize routes, reduce deadhead miles, and support overall operational goals.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies or urgent needs as part of a rotating on-call schedule (if applicable).

• 1–3+ years of experience in logistics, trucking dispatch, freight brokerage, or transportation coordination (strong candidates with customer service or account management backgrounds considered).
• Solid understanding of freight types (FTL, LTL), load boards, and basic brokerage principles (negotiating rates, carrier vetting).
• Excellent communication skills (phone, email, text) with the ability to build rapport with drivers, customers, and carriers.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities; comfortable multitasking in a high-volume environment.
• Proficiency with TMS software, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, and load boards (DAT, Truckstop, etc.) preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours-of-service rules a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's in logistics/supply chain a bonus.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and team-player mindset with a positive attitude.
