Driver, Courier
Operates company vehicles and provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick up of packages; checks shipments to ensure conformance to Fed Ex features of service; covers all assigned routes within the station's service area; performs related customer service functions. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum EducationHigh school diploma/GED.
Minimum ExperienceSix (6) months courier experience preferred. Must be able to demonstrate area knowledge.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Good human relations and verbal communication skills. Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred. Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
JobConditions
Neat appearance required due to customer contact. Must meet and maintain the qualifications outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations. Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license in accordance with state requirements for the assigned vehicle type and have a good driving record. Non-covered safety-sensitive position. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
