Shift: Tuesday to Friday 1.30pm to 11pm

Transportation Technician 3 (also known as TMC Tech III) is an advanced technician position that works indoors and on-site in a control room environment to monitor roadways and ensure the safe and efficient movement of traffic. This role is responsible for managing scheduled and unscheduled traffic incidents and dispatching responders accordingly by utilizing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) devices.

The initial contract will be for 30–90 days
, with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance. Available shifts will be communicated at the time interviews are scheduled.

• Perform job functions with minimal supervision while following established procedures.
• Identify complex issues and elevate them to a supervisor as appropriate.
• Operate computer-based traffic management systems to manage traffic flow and roadway incidents.
• Monitor roadways using traffic surveillance cameras and detection systems.
• Monitor all traffic devices and associated computer equipment.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of traffic equipment, computers, and software related to traffic systems.
• Become familiar with roadway layouts and understand the purpose and location of traffic devices.
• Communicate with multiple agencies to coordinate resources during incidents impacting regional travel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Customer service experience (highly preferred)
• Experience working in a team-oriented environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook
• Dispatch or call center experience (highly preferred)
