As a truck driver with UFP, you will play a key role in keeping UFP’s commitment to exceed customer expectations by delivering cargo safely and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must have a valid and current Commercial Driver’s License
- Minimum 12th‑grade basic education completed
- Minimum 1 year of experience driving a commercial vehicle up to 26,000 lbs
- Must not have any DOT recordable accidents in the past three years
- Must be able to pass a physical examination (DOT required). Position includes lifting 50–75 lbs, pushing/pulling, twisting, standing, walking, bending at the waist, and handling material.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Drive local routes that allow you to return home after every shift
- Operate commercial vehicles up to 80,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight
- Complete required driving logs on a highly developed ELD system
- Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections on all equipment
- Secure loads or inspect loads to ensure proper securement
- Perform duties consistent with all applicable safety, DOT, and company rules and regulations
- Maintain appropriate driving records, logs, and shipping documents as required
- Verify shipping documents for accuracy and obtain customer’s signature on paperwork upon delivery
- Complete training as required by management
