Job Description

The Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach provides support and leadership with all facets of the women’s soccer program as directed by the head coach, including: recruiting, administrative responsibilities, and applying effective coaching, teaching, and mentoring techniques that result in successful competition, retention, and graduation of qualified student-athletes.

Experience / Requirements /

Minimum Qualifications
  • Wide range of coaching experience and roles in collegiate athletics, preferably at the NCAA Division I or Division II level.
  • Administrative experience such as travel planning, academic support, coordinating camps, etc.
  • Experience with technical skill development and individual coaching
  • Recruiting experience at the collegiate level
  • Experience coaching/directing at the club level
  • Preferred Goalkeeper Coach/goalkeeping experience
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will assist with overseeing and mentoring graduate assistant and student assistant roles.

  • Assist with coaching soccer
  • Adhering to all NCAA and athletic department rules and regulations
  • Developing practice plans and game strategy in preparation for competition
  • Perform scouting and film breakdown as assigned by the head coach
  • Recruiting qualified student-athletes who are a good fit for UIndy
  • Assist with administrative functions including submitting NCAA compliance forms, ordering and issuing athletic equipment, community service, fundraising, team travel, etc.
  • Attend all Staff Meetings – department and women’s soccer-related
  • Developing and mentoring graduate assistant and student assistant coaches
  • Monitoring academic success and progress towards the degree of soccer student-athletes
  • Take program lead on organizing/running soccer camps
