As a Summer Camp Youth Sports Coach, you will play a key role in leading and organizing a sport‑specific (and sometimes multi‑sport) program that provides a fun and safe learning environment for children.

We go to program locations on a daily basis (primary north and/or south side of Indianapolis). The camps generally run 5 days a week from either 9‑12 or 1‑4. Additional coaching opportunities are available outside of the regular camp hours.

Responsibilities
  • Teach children fundamental sports skills (inc. Soccer, Tennis, Baseball, Basketball, Lacrosse, and other)
  • Plan activities that positively influence physical development and coordination of children
  • Create a fun, inclusive, and positive learning environment
  • Manage groups of children, providing guidance and support to ensure their safety and well‑being (group sizes can range from 8‑30, but generally are 12‑24)
  • Develop and lead age‑appropriate drills and exercises for ages 5‑12
  • Interact and engage with children while providing instruction
  • Set and enforce behavioral standards and rules
Requirements
  • "Make it work" attitude, always willing to adapt to different environments
  • Prior experience in coaching, teaching, or working with children
  • Knowledge and passion for sports
  • Experience managing groups of children; many classes are solo‑taught
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, and kneel for extended periods
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Availability must include Monday through Friday, from 8:30 to 4:30 pm, starting May 27th through August 9th
Benefits

Compensation for weekly 3‑hour camps ranges from $300–$350 depending on experience. Additional opportunities are compensated on a per‑class basis (30‑minute class) or, in some cases, two camps per day. We offer paid training, coaching shirts, and all necessary equipment and training to run your class.
