Overview

The FYI Center Lead Care Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the FYI Center Director with supervising the FYI center case managers, FYI Specialists (direct care personnel), and residents conducting intakes, responding to crises at the center, attending stakeholder/leadership meetings, conducting trainings, completing CANS assessments, and ensuring the overall safety of both the residents and employees  Lead Care Coordinator will be under the supervision of the FYI Director, Deputy Chief Probation Officer, and the Chief Probation Officer of Marion County Superior Court.

Responsibilities
  • Completes weekly supervision with director (LCSW). Director will sign off on supervision hours.
  • Must complete Motivational Interviewing training (provided by FYI) within 3 months of hire.
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures set forth by the Marion Superior Court and the FYI Center.
  • Makes referrals to community resources as appropriate.
  • Completes incident reports and treatment plans.
  • Must become CANS certified within 3 months of employment.
  • Be knowledgeable about teaching skills to youth and guiding them in practicing those skills.
  • Adheres to confidentiality policies.
  • Completes data entry in a timely manner.
  • Complete 20 hours of yearly educational training related to working with youth.
  • Is part of the management team and espouses leadership.
  • Collaborates with local law enforcement and services providers and maintains professional and appropriate communication.
  • Complies with DCS rules and regulations.
  • Reviews documents and provides guidance and feedback.
  • Conducts meetings with youth and families to ensure Safety and Success Planning.
  • Serves in other capacities and assignments as requested, required and/or directed by the Chief Probation Officer, while always adhering to the department’s overall “team” philosophy and practice.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must have a master's degree in social work, psychology, or counseling from an accredited school, plus, one (1) year of experience supervised by a person with a master's degree in social work, psychology, or counseling.
  • Experience in public speaking, facilitation, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cultural values and norms.
  • Understanding of culturally specific resources available within the local community and state.
  • Sensitivity and understanding of specific barriers experienced by children that lead to lack of access and engagement.
  • Ability to effectively interact with co-workers and clients with diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds, religious views, cultural backgrounds, immigrant status, physical and mental abilities, generational differences, gender identity and sexual orientation, and to treat everyone with respect and dignity.
  • Ability to engage with diverse staff and leadership to promote trust, collaboration, and partnerships.
  • Ability to remain solution-focused and respectful in all interactions with staff, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate sound ethics and judgment.
  • Knowledge of current office technology and systems, with the ability to acquire additional knowledge and skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, oversee, and complete multiple projects simultaneously with limited supervision.
  • Attentive to details and deadlines, responsive, follows up and follows through with responsibilities.
  • Ability to provide timely and consistent oral and written communications.

Must be a resident with Marion County within six months of hire.
