Industrial Maintenance Mechanic – Indianapolis, Indiana
Job
Large manufacturing plant in Indianapolis, IN is looking for a strong maintenance technician for the 1st or 2nd shifts (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM; 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM).
This role is Monday through Friday with some Saturdays as well.
Pay rate is $30-$38 hourly. Looking for someone who is sharp electrically and mechanically, PLC troubleshooting, wiring motors (up to 480V), hydraulics, pneumatics, etc. Looking for someone with packaging or filler equipment experience.
Job Description: Maintenance Technician II
Responsibilities- Troubleshooting and repairs:
Conduct in-depth troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to identify and resolve complex issues. Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components to minimize downtime. Utilize diagnostic tools to assess equipment malfunctions accurately. - Preventive Maintenance (PM):
Develop, update, and execute detailed PM schedules for machinery, equipment, and systems. Perform advanced PM tasks to enhance reliability and extend operational life. Document and maintain comprehensive PM records. - Advanced Electrical Work:
Diagnose and repair electrical issues in machinery and systems. Conduct basic electrical installations and upgrades as required. Adhere to electrical safety standards and regulations. - Equipment Monitoring and Optimization:
Monitor the performance of critical equipment and systems; implement improvements to enhance efficiency. Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor to implement optimization strategies. - Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including troubleshooting, repairs, and PM tasks. Generate reports on equipment status and maintenance trends for optimization recommendations. - Collaboration:
Work with cross-functional teams to address complex maintenance challenges. Provide guidance and mentorship to Maintenance Technician 1 and other junior team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and basic electrical work.
- 5-10 years of experience.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced computer skills for detailed record-keeping and reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 75 pounds).
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including tight spaces and heights.
