Division Steel Dynamics Responsibilities
• Troubleshooting electrical equipment problems
• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, project work and installation of electrical equipment
• Assist mechanics and operators with daily maintenance and ensure work is done safely
• Electrical equipment includes but is not limited to:
Control systems (PLC’s), motors and drives (VFD’s), lighting and power distribution
Required
- Excellent safety record
- 1 year of industrial electrical experience
- Experienced in safely working on systems up to 480V
- Basic knowledge of power distribution, AC motors and motor control
- Experience in relay control circuits and/or PLC’s
- Skilled at troubleshooting, problem solving and installation of electrical equipment
- Applicants must possess at least one of the following:
- Proven electrical aptitude – Electrical Test Score above 70%
- Technical military training related to electrical theory and maintenance
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with the equipment described above in a manufacturing environment
Preferred
- At least 2 years working as an electrician or technician in an industrial environment
- Experienced in safely working on systems up to and including 480 VAC
- Good working knowledge and understanding of Allen Bradley or GE PLC’s and drives
