Position Summary
Under general supervision, performs precision tune-ups and maintenance on HVAC equipment and accessories. Communicates with customers to answer questions, resolves problems, and ensures complete customer satisfaction. Promotes products and services to customers. Works under the direction of the Field Supervisor or General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Works under general supervision to perform maintenance calls
- Performs routine precision tune-ups and maintenance on heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment and accessories
- Inspects and performs limited diagnostics to identify potential problems and prevent breakdowns or callbacks
- Completes routine maintenance and equipment cleaning as required
- Delivers and removes parts and equipment needed to complete service work
- Assists the Service Technician in servicing HVAC equipment and accessories
- Records all required information on the customer call using a handheld device and completes forms/paperwork accurately; may collect payment if necessary
- Maintains communication with dispatch for status updates
- Delivers excellent customer service and sustains high customer satisfaction
- Promotes products and services; generates replacement product sales leads
- Ensures company property, vehicles, and tools are used, maintained, and accounted for
- Represents the company professionally, honestly, and ethically
- Follows standard procedures and ensures company vehicle is stocked
- Performs similar/other duties as needed
Health & Safety Roles and Responsibilities
- Reports unsafe acts or hazards to supervisor/manager
- Complies with legislation and company policies; uses PPE as prescribed
- Maintains safety guards and clothing as required
- Operates devices/equipment per company procedures
- Participates in safety initiatives and reports injuries or incidents promptly
- Supports safety plans to eliminate hazards
- Works in compliance with applicable laws
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; 1+ years’ HVAC experience with technical training certification preferred
- Valid licensing/certifications as required; EPA and safety certifications required
- Fundamental knowledge of HVAC operations and related accessories
- Proficient mechanical aptitude and tool operation
- Reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical/refrigerant/duct systems
- Effective communication and time-management skills
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Flexible hours and on-call availability
- Experience with basic maintenance on HVAC equipment is desirable
- Ability to access HVAC units in various environments (attics, basements, crawl spaces) and to lift up to 40 pounds
