Responsible for complete and satisfactory installation of residential and light commercial HVAC equipment and accessories. Communicate with customers, resolve problems, promote products, train installers, perform audits, and assist supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Install HVAC equipment and accessories in customer homes under direction of Field Supervisor or General Manager
- Install heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment, perform diagnostics as needed
- Design, fabricate, and install ducts and fittings
- Perform system start‑ups and component testing
- Deliver excellent customer service and sustain high satisfaction
- Promote products and services, and record replacement product leads
- Deliver and remove equipment, maintain vehicle and tools
- Complete accurate paperwork, collect payments, and keep vehicle clean
- Represent the company professionally, ethically
- Assist in site supervision, planning, estimating, and quality audits
- Train other installers in technical skills and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Report unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards to supervisor immediately
- Correct substandard acts within area of control
- Use and maintain appropriate PPE
- Never remove or render ineffective safety guards or devices
- Comply with company safety rules and procedures
- Participate in safety initiatives and teams
- Report all injuries or incidents promptly
- Provide input on safety initiatives
- Notengage in pranks or rough boisterous behavior
- Work in compliance with applicable legislation
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED plus HVAC technical training certification
- 5+ years HVAC experience with valid licensing/certifications as required
- EPA and safety certifications
- Proficient in heating, AC, ventilation, ventilation accessories operation
- Advanced installation skills for heating, AC, ventilation equipment
- Proficient in duct layout and installation requirements
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and tool proficiency
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems
- Proficient in system start‑up, airflow balance, belt and pulley alignment
- Advanced skills installing electronic air cleaners, refrigeration, hot water, steam boiler, humidifier, related equipment
- Calculate heat gain and loss on buildings
- Effective communication with customers and resolve complaints
- Time‑management and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Flexible hours and on‑call shifts as needed
- Physical ability: stand, walk, stand, climb ladders, attic stairs, maneuver attics, basements, crawl spaces
- Work in varied environmental conditions: hot, cold, outdoor, indoor, dry, humid, slippery, heights, congested areas
- Safe 300lb load capacity rated ladders with 30lb tool belt
- Vision appropriate for close and distant focus
- Lift up to 75 lbs; handle and carry items up to 50 lbs
