Position overview

The Seasonal Installation Crew Leader directly supports the Seasonal Installation Specialist in the daily activities of the seasonal team on private estates, residential, commercial properties. This position ensures the highest standards of horticultural care, garden aesthetics, and landscape maintenance while managing staff, schedules, and supplies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct a small crew during installation and maintenance of seasonal color displays.
  • Review project plans and layouts with the Seasonal Color Specialist and ensure accurate execution in the field.
  • Assist with hands-on installation of plant material, containers, soil amendments, and décor.
  • Maintain quality control throughout projects, adjust spacing, check design integrity, and ensure neat, finished work.
  • Train and guide seasonal laborers on planting techniques, safety procedures, and equipment use.
  • Monitor crew productivity and adherence to schedule while maintaining a positive team environment.
  • Perform regular seasonal maintenance duties, such as watering, deadheading, pruning, and fertilizing.
  • Communicate plant health issues, supply shortages, or site concerns promptly to the Color Specialist.
  • Load and transport tools, materials, and plant material between the branch and job sites as needed.
  • Ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to company standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in landscape installation or seasonal color work preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of annuals, perennials, and general plant care required.
  • Proven ability to lead a crew and communicate effectively in the field.
  • High attention to detail and ability to interpret design plans and layouts.
  • Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs, working on your feet, and enduring variable outdoor weather.
  • Valid driver’s license required; ability to drive company vehicles.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
