The Plumber III is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing used for water distribution and waste water disposal in the facility.

The Plumber III works in cooperation with other trades and laborers to ensure that all specifications, legislation, and policies are met, and to ensure efficient completion of any project. Providing adequate services will ensure that all water supply networks, waste systems, and drainage systems are installed, repaired, and maintained to meet all standards of building codes and safety. The Plumber III leads training for new associates and serves as a Subject Matter Expert to facilities stakeholders.

The Plumber III also leads larger scale projects as assigned. This position will be located at St. Vincent's Hospital

• Diagnose causes of problems and/or failures in water systems to identify equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs.
• Install, maintain, and repair domestic water pumps, water piping lines, water filters, and plumbing fixtures.
• Repair and maintain steam stations, valves, heating and condensation return stations, and sewer and storm drains.
• Test fire system valves, tamper switches, fire pumps, and dry deluge fire systems.
• Maintain the piping and supply of cylinder and bulk medical gas systems.
• Prepare the preventative maintenance schedule and produce monthly reports.
• Develop procedures and conduct preventative maintenance and service inspections of backflow devices and cross-connection control awareness.
• Respond to emergency situations during or after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns.
• Identify and recommend long-term needs and strategies for plumbing systems and components, resulting in cost savings.
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
• Informat personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders to provide information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations.
• Maintain vehicle, tools, and equipment to ensure availability in safe operating condition.
• May serve as a dedicated service tech, providing electrical services to facilities/buildings within a defined region, requiring travel to multiple sites to perform service and billing functions.
• May travel to multiple sites to perform functions of the role.
• May coordinate, maintain, and repair all energy management systems.

• Participate in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars, as assigned to convey and/or gather information required to perform job functions.
• Lead training and department orientation for new associates.
• Lead special projects as assigned.
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert for facilities stakeholders, including Plumbers I and II.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Relevant License - required.
• Graduate of trade school and 3 years’ experience.
• 5 years’ relevant experience.
• Other equivalent combination of relevant education or experience.
