The Security System Technician is responsible for the installation, service, and troubleshooting of electronic security systems for commercial and enterprise‑level customers.

- Install, program, and configure commercial electronic security systems for commercial clients (door access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, low‑voltage communication, electronic locks, point sensors, signaling devices, etc.).
- Troubleshoot new installations to ensure the systems are functioning properly and satisfy codes.
- Drive to client sites, with a company‑issued vehicle, to perform system installation and confirm the system is operating effectively and meets requirements.
- Run electrical wiring; related activities include drilling, trenching, and aerial runs.
- Connect control panels, meet application requirements, conceal wiring, and install security software.
- Program security systems and devices.
- Provide customer training on use and basic troubleshooting of common issues and programming features.
- Document work performed and corrective actions thoroughly and descriptively.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or state‑recognized GED; vocational or trade school courses in electrical, electronics, or communication systems preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in the physical security, fire alarm, or low‑voltage communication industry installing field devices and programming systems.
- Experience with any or all of the following preferred:
Access Control, Salto, Hirsch, Open Options, Genetec, Video Surveillance, Hanwha, Milestone, Vicon. - Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Sense of urgency, self‑initiative, dedication, and sense of ownership.
- Effective written and verbal interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
- Outstanding ability to follow through from start to finish of work.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to balance multiple priorities.
- Ability to work in a variety of circumstances, including but not limited to standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high‑lift equipment; working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- May be required to satisfy requirements imposed by specific projects, customers, or company.
- Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet.
- Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted.
Pre‑hire requirements include a drug test, a driving report, evidence of insurability, and a background check.
