Maintains a safe and secure environment for students, customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
Responsibilities- Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
- Examines doors, windows, and gates to ensure security; uses college keys to open and close buildings.
- Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures.
- Prepares routine, standardized reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
- Provides escort services for visitors, students, staff, and faculty as necessary.
- Patrols and monitors assigned parking areas and/or parking garages to provide public security and assistance.
- Serves as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act.
- Acts as a first responder to any campus emergency.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- This position reports directly to the Public Safety Campus Lead.
- High School Diploma and/or equivalent (GED).
- Must be adept at resolving individual and group conflicts, and must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must possess excellent organizational, planning, evaluation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues both in and outside of the organization.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
