We are seeking a hybrid Benefits Consultant in Indianapolis, IN to support a portfolio of employer clients by serving as their primary advisor on employee benefits programs for an insurance client of ours. In this role, you will focus on maintaining strong client relationships, guiding organizations through benefits renewals, and providing ongoing support around plan strategy and industry trends.
This position is highly relationship-focused and works closely with a strong internal support team that manages proposals, RFPs, and analytics. The consultant will primarily focus on client communication, benefits strategy discussions, and ensuring a smooth renewal and enrollment experience for employers throughout the Indianapolis market.
Responsibilities- Manage and maintain relationships with a portfolio of employer clients.
- Lead client meetings and provide guidance on benefits strategy, plan performance, and market trends.
- Support the annual renewal cycle and coordinate with internal teams on proposals, RFPs, and open enrollment planning.
- Partner with account managers, analysts, and carrier partners to deliver high-quality service and solutions.
- Maintain strong knowledge of insurance products, funding options, and regulatory changes impacting employer-sponsored benefits.
- Ensure accurate documentation of client information and activities within internal systems.
- 3+ years of experience in employee benefits consulting, brokerage, or a related advisory role.
- Knowledge of group health and ancillary benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
- Familiarity with benefits renewals, quoting processes, and carrier markets.
- Understanding of regulations impacting employer health plans (ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, Section 125).
- Active Life & Health insurance license required.
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship management skills.
