-operated since 1964, TFE provides high-quality Fluid Power and Power Transmission products to northeast and central Indiana, northwest Ohio and southern Michigan. TFE is a growing company with emphasis on quality products and service for the OEM customer and the end user.
We are seeking an experienced Technical Outside Sales Representative to join our growing team!
As a Technical Outside Sales Representative, you will be the face of TFE for customers in the Indianapolis region. You’ll leverage your expertise in power transmission and fluid power products to build strong relationships, identify customer needs, and deliver tailored solutions. This is a field-based role focused on driving sales growth, supporting customers, and expanding TFE s market presence.
Responsibilities- Direct Sales & Customer Engagement:
Present new products, services, and technical information to increase TFE’s exposure and grow your territory. Make regular sales calls to prospective and existing customers within your assigned territory. Assist customers in specifying and selecting the right products from TFE’s complete line of power transmission and fluid power solutions. - Customer Service & Support:
Provide quotes for customer projects and close purchase orders efficiently. Deliver outstanding customer service by collaborating with all levels of TFE personnel. Perform simple delivery functions as needed to ensure timely fulfillment. - Account Management:
Work with accounting to maintain customer accounts within specified terms. Provide regular feedback to management on territory status through verbal and written reports. - Teamwork & Communication:
Communicate professionally via phone, email, web, and in-person. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and diagrams to support customer needs. Apply practical reasoning and technical knowledge to solve customer challenges.
- Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in power transmission and fluid power products or a closely related field.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; some college or relevant on-the-job experience preferred.
- Proven ability to read and understand technical documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid math skills (percentages, ratios, fractions, decimals, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the Grand Rapids territory.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
