Job Overview
David’s Bridal, a leading bridal retailer, is seeking an Alterations Specialist to provide exceptional fit and craftsmanship for our wedding customers. The role requires friendly customer service, technical fitting expertise, and collaboration with the store’s team and alteration partners.
Key Responsibilities- Welcome customers with genuine enthusiasm via phone, virtual chat, and in-person interactions.
- Use all systems to manage customer flow and deliver a five‑star experience.
- Maintain all service levels by being prepared, welcoming, and meeting the needs of all customers, including operational checklist tasks and addressing emotional and practical needs.
- Provide an exceptional service experience to multiple customers at one time and contribute to the store’s Five‑Star Customer Service achievements.
- Proactively address customer concerns, know when to escalade, and partner with the leadership team.
- Explain and promote alteration services and personalization options to customers.
- Assist stylists in closing sales by consulting on gown fit and customization.
- Maintain store standards to support a flawless shopping experience.
- Adhere to the Dress Code Policy and maintain a high standard of dress.
- Escort all alteration customers to and from appointments and maintain a clean, organized alterations room.
- Inspections and quality control: inspect all garments to verify pristine condition before final delivery.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries, providing product and service information.
- Build long‑term relationships to meet and exceed loyalty and satisfaction.
- Process special orders, pickups, and ensure merchandise meets first‑quality standards.
- Ensure alteration pricing aligns with company standards.
- Carry out all alterations, fittings, steaming, pressing, and cleaning to company standards.
- Resolve customer service issues swiftly and effectively following company guidelines.
- Support all cash wrap behaviors and process transactions accurately to celebrate every customer.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by store management.
- Occasionally stand, walk, sit for extended periods; reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; lift or move up to 10 lbs.
- Manual dexterity required for sewing, fittings, POS usage, and computer access.
- Good vision, depth perception, and the ability to read and use electronic devices for long periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1‑2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
- Prior sewing experience required, preferably in bridal or special occasion production.
- Experience with a computerized POS system is a plus.
