Position: Retail Sales Associate - Part Time - 2368
Location: Indianapolis

Position Summary

We are seeking entry‑level, part‑time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. You will greet, engage, and interact with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions. You will work with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

Part‑time position offers an hourly wage, PLUS employees earn commission based on productivity! Your actual pay will be based on work location, qualifications and experience.

Salary and Commission

$13.00 to $16.00 per hour. Commission can be up to 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $3.18 per hour on top of the hourly rate. Pay rates will not be below any applicable local minimum wage requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Greets and interacts with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
  • Performs non‑management open/close procedures.
  • Keeps the sales floor clean, stocked, and displays merchandise.
  • Performs sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Handles all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Answers incoming calls per company standards.
  • Communicates the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
  • Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers.
  • Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
  • Successfully completes the assigned training.
  • Other related duties, as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willing and able to perform duties and tasks for extended periods of time (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting).
  • Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified.
  • May be asked to assist a customer on the exterior of the building or retrieve products stored in exterior storage buildings.
  • Minimum age 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong desire to work, serve customers, work with people, and be team‑oriented.
  • Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations proficiently.
  • Cash handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible retail schedule based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
  • Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.
Commission Plan Information

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers can earn 2–8% commission based on their gross profit. Applicants will receive more details during the interview process.
